Mr. Linton P. Gordon embarked on his legal career in 1977 obtaining his Bachelor of Laws and C.L.E. at the University of the West Indies and Norman Manley Law School respectively and was admitted to the Bar in 1981. After completing his legal studies in 1981 Linton Gordon joined the Jamaica Defence Force 3rd Battalion and was promoted through the ranks to the position of Commanding Officer of the 3rd Battalion of the Jamaica Regiment (National Reserve) in 2003.

In 1986, five years after being admitted to the Jamaica Bar, by a casual introduction between Eric Frater and himself, Linton Gordon was invited to be the third member of the trio forming Frater, Ennis & Gordon.

In 2007 and after 26 of service Lt. Col. Gordon retired from military service. Linton Gordon lectures frequently at JDF and pens periodic articles for the local newspapers, in particular, the North Coast Times for which he writes a regular column.

In addition to this he is a Justice of the Peace and Notary Public and has been the Past President and current member of the Northern Jamaica Law Society. He is also a member of the Jamaican Bar Association. Additionally, he is a member of the Society for Military Law and the Law of War and a Founding Member of the Commonwealth Association of Armed Forces Lawyers.
